Sudanese Army Repels Major Assault on Key Town

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) have successfully defended the strategic town of Babnousa in West Kordofan state. The military repelled a major attack by the rival Rapid Support Forces (RSF), according to sources. Military sources reported that the RSF used heavy artillery, light weapons, and drones in the assault. After suffering what were described as significant losses, the RSF forces withdrew from the area. The battle for Babnousa is part of the wider ongoing conflict for control of Sudan. The town is considered a key location in the resource-rich region.
