China Seeks Global Partners to Strengthen Shipbuilding Supply Chain

China is inviting foreign companies to join its shipbuilding industry. The move aims to create a more connected global supply chain, officials said on Tuesday. Gao Dongsheng, chief economist at China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), stated the country is committed to further opening its shipbuilding sector. This continues China's push to support international trade and cooperation. Chinese shipyards currently have the capacity to build approximately 65 million deadweight tonnes of large vessels. By integrating more global partners, China seeks a larger role in the worldwide maritime supply network.
