Kremlin Sees Overlap in U.S. and Russian Security Visions

Dmitry Peskov, the Russian president's press secretary, said the latest U.S. National Security Strategy is "largely consistent" with Russia's vision. He did not specify which elements were seen as aligned. Peskov added that Moscow hopes this common ground could provide a "modest guarantee." The aim, he said, is to allow both nations to continue "joint constructive work" toward a settlement in Ukraine. The statement marks a rare positive signal from Moscow regarding U.S. policy. It comes amid ongoing military conflict in Ukraine and severe diplomatic tensions between Washington and Moscow.
