Turkey will formally transfer a warship to the Romanian Navy on Saturday, the Turkish Defense Ministry announced Friday.
The frigate, named "Kontra Admiral Roman," will be handed over during a ceremony attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Romanian counterpart, Nicolae Ciuca.
The state-run Anadolu Agency reported that the event will also include the delivery of a patrol vessel. The announcement was made by ASFAT, the Turkish Defense Ministry’s military factory and shipyard management company.
The handover marks a step in deepening defense ties between the two NATO allies.
