19 Dead in Fez as Pre-Cracked Buildings Collapse Overnight

At least 19 people are dead and 16 injured after two residential buildings collapsed in the historic Moroccan city of Fez early Wednesday. The state news agency reported that the adjacent four-story blocks fell overnight. They were home to eight families in the Al-Mustaqbal neighborhood. Authorities confirmed the structures had shown visible signs of cracking and neglect for a significant period before the disaster. Rescue teams are continuing their work at the site. Fez, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is one of Morocco's oldest and most densely populated cities. Building collapses are not uncommon in older neighborhoods.
