A Russian glide bomb struck a village shop in northeastern Ukraine on Thursday, killing two civilians inside. The attack injured two others.
The strike hit the building in Velyka Pysarivka, a settlement in the Sumy region near the Russian border, while people were present. Local officials reported a shop clerk and a customer were killed.
Glide bombs are conventional aircraft bombs fitted with wings and navigation systems. This modification allows Russian jets to launch them from a distance, staying away from Ukrainian air defenses.
The Sumy region, which borders Russia, experiences near-daily shelling and drone attacks. This incident highlights the continuing danger to civilians in frontline and border areas.
