Salah Breaks Premier League Record Held by Rooney
Mohamed Salah has set a new all-time record in the English Premier League. The Liverpool forward registered an assist in his team's 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday. This contribution gave him a total of 277 "goal involvements" in the competition. A "goal involvement" is the combined total of goals a player scores and assists they provide. The 33-year-old Egyptian star has now surpassed the previous record of 276, held by Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney. Salah achieved the new benchmark in 337 matches, faster than Rooney's 491 games. Salah has scored 204 goals and made 73 assists in his Premier League career for Liverpool and Chelsea. He continues to be one of the league's most decisive players.
