A man getting coffee became a national hero after stopping a deadly attack at Australia's Bondi Beach.
Ahmed al Ahmed, 44, was meeting a friend last Saturday evening. The popular beach area was busy with people enjoying the summer weather. Suddenly, two gunmen began shooting. They targeted a group celebrating Hanukkah, a Jewish holiday, in a nearby park.
As others fled, al Ahmed moved toward the danger. Security video shows him crouching between cars. He then ran directly at one shooter, tackling him. The footage has been viewed millions of times worldwide.
Australians are calling al Ahmed a hero. An online fundraiser for his family has collected millions of dollars in just days. The attack left several people injured. Police arrested both suspects.
