119 Kenyans Rescued From "Job Scam Hubs" in Myanmar Return Home

Kenya has returned 119 citizens who were trapped in forced labor scam compounds in Myanmar. The operation was confirmed by the country's State Department for Diaspora Affairs. The victims were lured to Southeast Asia with promises of high-paying information technology jobs. Upon arrival, they were forced to work in online scam centers targeting people globally. Officials say another 198 Kenyans still await rescue. They are located in Myanmar (129), Thailand (66), and Cambodia (3). The repatriated group arrived in Nairobi this week. This case is part of a larger international crime pattern. Criminal networks use fake job ads to traffic people into scam factories. Victims often have their passports seized and face threats if they do not meet daily fraud targets. The Kenyan government is working with international agencies to free the remaining citizens.
