Turkish telecom giant Turkcell will activate its roaming and international calling services in Syria starting midnight on December 23.
The announcement was made by Turkcell's CEO, Ali Taha Koç, in a social media post. The move will allow Turkcell subscribers to use their mobile phones for calls and data while in Syria.
This service enables "international roaming." This means customers can connect to local Syrian networks to make calls, send messages, and use mobile internet.
The development provides a direct communication link for travelers and businesspeople between the two neighboring countries.
