A U.S. judge has stopped authorities from detaining or deporting a British activist targeted by the Trump administration.
Imran Ahmed, head of the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), is one of five Europeans marked for removal. The administration opposes their work against online hate speech and misinformation.
Ahmed filed a legal complaint on Thursday. It names senior Trump allies, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Attorney General Pam Bondi. He argues his potential arrest and deportation would be unconstitutional.
The judge's order temporarily blocks any action against Ahmed while the case proceeds.
