China’s ambassador to the United States, Xie Feng, has publicly criticized the treatment of Chinese students and researchers in America. He stated that they are being unfairly labeled as national security threats.
In a video message to the US-China Hong Kong Forum, Ambassador Xie said that some individuals in the US are viewing these groups with a "biased lens." He accused them of using smear campaigns to create obstacles.
The ambassador called for an end to this stigmatization. He urged people with vision in both countries to work against these negative trends and support continued academic and friendly exchanges.
