Trump Demands Release of Epstein Files Naming Democrats
Former President Donald Trump has called for the public release of any documents from the Jeffrey Epstein case that name prominent Democrats. In a statement on Friday, Trump suggested the U.S. Justice Department is over-investigating the Epstein matter. However, he made an exception for individuals linked to the Democratic Party. "Release all Epstein files now," Trump wrote. "It is a disgrace that the DOJ is spending so much time on this when they should be focusing on other matters. But if you are going to release, name the Democrats. Embarrass them." Federal prosecutors are currently managing a large collection of sealed records related to the late financier and convicted sex offender. The files are connected to a 2017 civil case. Trump did not reference any Republicans who might be named in the documents. He also did not provide evidence that the Justice Department's investigation is politically biased.
