Peace Needs "A Willing Russia," Says Canada's PM to Zelensky

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney stated that a lasting peace in Ukraine depends on Russia's cooperation. He made the remarks while meeting President Volodymyr Zelensky in Halifax on Saturday. Carney condemned Russia's latest missile attacks on Kyiv, calling them acts of "barbarism." He said the violence proves why international support for Ukraine must continue. "We have the conditions for a just and lasting peace, but that requires a willing Russia," Carney said. Zelensky is visiting Halifax during a trip to meet U.S. officials. The Canadian leader reiterated his country's firm support for Ukraine against the Russian invasion.
