Second Texas Teen Vanishes as First is Found Dead

A search for a missing Texas teenager ended in tragedy this week, as another girl from the same region disappeared.
The body of 17-year-old Ebby Ponce was discovered on Tuesday. She had been missing since July 4 from the Houston area. Authorities have ruled her death a homicide. An investigation is ongoing.
In a separate case, 12-year-old E’minie Hughes is now missing. She was last seen on July 30 in the Houston suburb of Missouri City. Police say she may be with an adult man she met online. They are treating her disappearance as an “endangered missing” case.
The two incidents are not believed to be connected. Law enforcement continues to investigate both.
