Crystal Palace have signed forward Brennan Johnson from Tottenham Hotspur for a club-record £35 million.
Manager Oliver Glasner praised the club's leadership for completing the deal quickly. Johnson, 24, has agreed to a four-and-a-half-year contract.
The Wales international could play for Palace against Newcastle United this Sunday. Glasner had wanted to strengthen his squad after a difficult first season in European competition. He had previously criticized the club's slow work in past transfer periods.
Johnson said he is "super excited" by the move. Palace succeeded despite rival interest from Bournemouth.
