Ukraine has invited Ghana's top diplomat to Kyiv. The offer includes a chance to meet a Ghanaian citizen captured while fighting for Russian forces.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry confirmed it received an official request from Ghana about the citizen's return. In response, Ukraine has formally invited Ghana's Foreign Minister to visit.
The key part of the invitation is an offer for Ghanaian officials to have direct access to the captured individual. This would allow them to confirm his identity and condition firsthand.
The case highlights Ukraine's efforts to document foreign fighters within Russian military units. Kyiv routinely reports capturing such "mercenaries" from other nations.
