Russia launched a massive overnight attack on Ukraine, using a new hypersonic missile. Officials in Moscow say they fired an "Oreshnik" missile to target Ukrainian infrastructure.
The attack on the capital, Kyiv, killed four people and injured at least 22, local authorities report.
This large-scale military strike happened shortly after Russia criticized a Western proposal. The proposal suggested sending peacekeeping troops to Ukraine after any future ceasefire agreement.
Hypersonic missiles are weapons that can fly at least five times the speed of sound. Their speed and maneuverability make them very difficult to intercept with current air defense systems.
