Violent Mob Assaults Couple, Burns Truck at Queens Street Takeover

A couple suffered a severe beating and their vehicle was set on fire during an illegal street takeover in the Queens neighborhood of Malba. The incident occurred when a large, unruly group took over a local intersection. According to reports, the assailants attacked the man and woman, leaving the man with a broken nose and broken ribs. The mob also destroyed the couple's truck, setting it ablaze in the middle of the street. Street takeovers, where groups block roads to perform car stunts, have occurred in other major U.S. cities. The event in Malba marks a significant escalation, however, due to the extreme violence directed at residents.
