Israeli soldiers aimed a rifle at a two-year-old Palestinian boy near his home in Hebron, according to a local rights group. The incident occurred in the Israeli-controlled area of the city's Old City.
A video released by the group shows a soldier pointing his weapon at the child, who is standing with an adult. The boy then runs inside a nearby building.
The Israeli military stated the soldiers were responding to a "violent riot" in the area. They said the rifle was pointed as a "precautionary measure" after suspects fled into the building, and that the action was "not in accordance with orders."
Hebron's Old City is under Israeli military control. Approximately 800 Jewish settlers live there, protected by soldiers, amid over 30,000 Palestinians.
