300 hectares reclaimed: Indonesia moves to protect elephant corridor

Indonesia's Forestry Ministry has taken back about 300 hectares of land in Bengkulu province. The land sits inside a corridor used by wild elephants. Officials destroyed hundreds of oil palm trees planted on the site. The trees had been grown illegally within the protected zone. The operation aims to restore the corridor, which allows elephants to move safely between habitats. Palm plantations had blocked this route.
