Banda Aceh — The Peusangan Elephant Conservation Coordination Forum (FK PECI) is calling for stronger protection of Sumatran elephant corridors in Aceh.
Corridors are strips of land that connect separated habitats. They allow elephants to move safely between forest areas.
FK PECI said the corridors face growing pressure from land clearing and human activity.
The forum warned that without better protection, elephant-human conflicts will increase.
It urged local authorities and communities to work together to keep the corridors open and safe.
